Friday FILMS: Enforcing the Silence (2011)

Enforcing the Silence (2011)
Directed by Tony Nguyen, 60 mins

Tony is a pretty awesome homie.  I know him from our days in the APIA spoken word world. He’s also recently completed his first feature-length documentary, Enforcing the Silence.  While the film hasn’t been screened on the east coast just yet, I can tell by the trailer above what a significant film this is for the Vietnamese-American community, particularly in the Bay Area (“Yeeee!”)  I had the honor of interviewing him some weeks ago, and Tony’s work within the San Francisco community just seems amazing!  Please check out the film’s official site HERE and check back frequently for screening updates in your hood!

Friday FILMS is posted twice every month, providing commentary and recommendations for people who have similar Hanalei-esque tastes.
